My 10th publication is completed and I have decided to title this book “Fighting the Blues as a Black Woman: How I Survived Suicidal Depression.” This book is more a personal essay. I talk about my experience living with depression and how I fought off my worst demons. There is also a chapter of poetry relating to the emotional distress of depression and suicide. It was hard writing this book but I enjoyed doing the research on mental health in general. I came across so much interesting and uplifting information that help improve my outlook on daily living. I plan self publish this project and release it in the fall. I have reviewers lined up to read the script after editing and the cover art will be posted soon.
